Committees

The Board of the Faculty of Law is the Faculty's executive authority. The Board has 25 elected members drawn from across  the Faculty. It also includes student representation. All the Faculty's committees report to the Board. The following are the committees with the most extensive management responsibilities:

The General Purposes Committee (chaired by the Chair of the Law Board) reviews the teaching strength and needs of the Faculty, considers suggestions relating to the library and faculty building, makes recommendations for memberships of other committees, and deals with other matters referred to it by the Board.

The Graduate Studies Committee (chaired by the Directors of Graduate Studies) deals with policy matters concerning postgraduate students, regulates their admission, and oversees their progress. It includes student representatives.

The Undergraduate Studies Committee (chaired by the Director of Undergraduate Studies) deals with policy matters concerning undergraduate students, including curriculum changes. It includes student representatives.

The Examinations Committee (chaired by the Director of Examinations) nominates examination boards, deals with policy issues concerning examinations, and oversees the administration of the examinations themselves.

The Law Joint Consultative Committee (LJCC)

The Law  Faculty is the largest unit in the University's Social Sciences Division.
