How to get to Oxford and St Anne’s College?
By air
If you are arriving at London Heathrow or London Gatwick, it is easiest to get to Oxford by catching The Airline coach service. Travel time is approximately 90 minutes from Heathrow and 120 minutes from Gatwick. London Stansted is linked to Oxford by the National Express 757 coach service. Travel time from Stansted is approximately 120 minutes. For both services, you should get off at the final stop, Gloucester Green coach station. The coach station is roughly a 15 minute walk from St Anne’s College.
By train
There are frequent direct trains from London Paddington and regular links northwards via Birmingham, southwards via Reading, and westwards via Didcot. Railtrack's online timetable is available on the National Rail Enquiries website. The railway station is roughly a 20 minute walk from St Anne’s College, or there is, of course, a taxi rank at the station.
By bus
There are also very frequent coach services to Oxford from London Victoria Station, (namely the X90 - Oxford Espress, and the Oxford Tube), as well as from other destinations. In Oxford you should get off at the final stop, Gloucester Green coach station. The coach station is roughly a 15 minute walk from St Anne’s College.
By car
We would suggest that participants do not travel to Oxford by car as on-road parking around the College is impossible and unauthorized parking in the College itself is prohibited. If, however, you do decide to come by car, please use the City's very efficient Park and Ride bus service which operates between the city centre and parking areas on the outskirts. There are five Park and Rides covering most of the major routes into the city. They are all clearly signposted and linked to the centre of the city by regular bus services (see Oxford's park&ride).
Taxis
Taxi ranks are located at Oxford railway station, Gloucester Green, the corner of Queen Street and Cornmarket Street, and the southern end of St Giles’. The phone numbers for some local taxi firms are as follows: ABC Taxis: +44 (0)1865 770077 City Taxis: +44 (0)1865 201201 Euro Taxis: +44 (0)1865 430430 Radio Taxis: +44 (0)1865 249743.
