About the Group

The Corporate Finance Discussion Group After the last and in the wake of a new financial crisis, academic knowledge on corporate finance gets put to a practical test. Current political discussions focus highly on these subjects making corporate finance concepts at the same time academically interesting and urgent to understand for students starting into today´s business world. The group will help students to develop their commercial awareness - a skill which is requested by most employers in the business sector today. Participants will be asked to do a fair amount of preparatory work by reading and preparing summaries of academic articles the group wants to cover. In the first half of the meetings, group members will give short presentations of his/her assigned reading followed by discussions on questions raised by the reading or in the corporate finance class. The group will then focus on current events from the daily press. During the course of the year, the group will systematically cover the major questions of today´s corporate finance law. The group meets weekly during termtime. Jennifer Payne is acting as Senior Member of this group.
