About the Group

The Property Law Discussion Group

The Property Law Discussion Group meets once or twice a term over a sandwich lunch. There will sometimes be a paper or a presentation of work in progress from a speaker, either from within the Faculty or from outside; on other occasions there will be a general discussion of a topic of interest in property law.

In recent years, we have looked at some leading cases in property law (Cobbe v Yeoman’s Row, Bruton v London and Quadrant Housing), have discussed torts protecting property rights and the problems created by shared ownership schemes, and have hosted talks on the role of restitution in the law of resulting trusts, and on the concept of ‘home’.

The group is open to all Faculty members and graduate law students and is organised by Michael Ashdown. Suggestions for future meetings, and offers to lead discussions or give talks to the group are always very welcome.

Convenor: Luke Rostill

Senior member: Michael Ashdown
