Law in the Real World: the Value of Empirical Research on Law

Speaker: Professor Martin Partington QC CBE, University of Bristol

Venue: Oxford Law Faculty Senior Common Room, Faculty of Law

Professor Partington, former Law Commissioner and author of numerous influential publications concerning the role of empirical research in law, including (with Hazel Genn and Sally Wheeler) the 2006 report 'Law in the real World: the Nuffield Inquiry on Empirical Research on Law,' will discuss the value of empirical research on law based on his previous experience as an academic and a law reformer. Tea, coffee, and lunch will be provided.
