Editing The Times – Newspapers in a Political World
Speaker: James Harding, the former Editor of The Times, and Anne Spackman, its former Comment Editor

James Hardingwas appointed Editor of The Times in 2007, the youngest person to have taken up that role, resigning earlier this year. He was previously the paper’s Business Editor. It was recently announced that he is to become Director of News at the BBC.
Anne Spackmanwas appointed Comment Editor of The Times in 2008 and resigned earlier this year. She had previously been Editor-in-Chief of Times Online and, as the paper’s Managing Editor, she played a major role in its conversion from broadsheet to compact format.
The discussion will be chaired by the Warden, Lord Macdonald QC.
