The inaugural reception for the "Oxford Law Alumni" was held in the Egyptian Hall of the Mansion House in London. The Mansion House, one of the grandest surviving Georgian town palaces in London, is the purpose-built home for the Lord Mayor of London and his household and is the only private residence in England with its own Court of Justice.
. It was the first event of its kind and the response was overwhelming. The Rt Hon. Christopher Patten, CH, Chancellor of the University addressed over 500 people gathered to reunite with their Oxford ties and to share in the good spirit of the evening.
