Judith Freedman has been awarded the 2012-13 Oxford-Melbourne Research Partnership funding with Ann O’Connell at Melbourne Law School. The two year project on “A Comparative Analysis of General Anti Avoidance Provisions” will include an international conference on recent proposals on the GAAR in February 2012. The research funding is part of the funding provided to Melbourne and Oxford by Allan Myers QC.

Shearman & Sterling University of Oxford Moot Competition 2012

Can a passenger travelling in a stolen car who is injured in a collision due to the negligence of the driver recover damages in tort when he was complicit in the theft of the car? What standard of care does a driver who, unbeknownst to him, suffers from a disability that seriously impairs his ability to drive owe to his passenger?
