Nicos Stavropoulos

is the University Lecturer in Legal Theory.  He holds a law degree from the University of Athens, the LL.M. degree from the University of London, and the D.Phil. degree from the University of Oxford. Before joining the Oxford Law Faculty in 1999, he practiced law in Athens for several years, and served for two years as Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Greece.  He is the author of Objectivity in Law (Oxford, Clarendon Press 1996).  His teaching and his research are in the philosophy of law, with special emphasis on the bearing of philosophy of language and mind on legal theory.
