Oxford Mooting

Oxford Hong Kong Moot

The Oxford Hong Kong Mooting Competition aims to promote mooting culture among Oxford students in Hong Kong, and connect experienced professionals with students. The Competition began in 2011 when four Oxford Law students, driven by passion in mooting, organized the inaugural Competition at the Excelsior Hotel in Hong Kong. The Competition simulates a dispute heard before the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, which raises contentious questions of law and fact. Participants form teams of two and prepare submissions on both the appellant and respondent positions. They are judged by experienced counsel from chambers and a judge from the Hong Kong High Court.
