Announcing the 2010 MSPL Conference
and Call for Papers

As many of you will recall, the 2010 MSPL conference will be taking place in Oxford from 23rd-25th March 2010.

For those of you not familiar with the background, there has since 1996 been a biennial conference in Property Law at the University of Reading. That conference series gave rise to Modern Studies in Property Law book, which since 2001 has been the medium for refereed publication of the conference papers. In 2008 the conference, for the first time, took place away from Reading, at Cambridge.

The conference will be closely tied to the book, and that the book will be managed through an editorial board. The book will continue to be published by Hart Publishing Ltd, and we are all very grateful indeed to Richard for his support over the years.

In 2010, the Conference will be based at New College in Oxford. The “hotel” side of things will be at New College, and the sessions themselves will be in the Law Faculty building (St Cross Building) which is also where the Bodleian Law Library is.

I am delighted to announce that there will be three key speakers in 2010, one on each day of the conference: Professor Elizabeth Cooke (Law Commissioner); Lady Justice Arden; and Professor Kevin Gray (Cambridge University). In addition, Lord Neuberger has kindly agreed to be the after dinner speaker at the conference dinner on 24th of March.
