photo of Dapo Akande

Dapo Akande has been appointed by the Commonwealth to an Expert Group that will review legislation implementing the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Course. The Commonwealth created a Model Law to Implement the Rome Statute, which assists countries in enacting legislation to recognise the crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, and on which several national laws in the Commonwealth are now based. The Commonwealth has appointed the Expert Group to review this Model in light of the experience of the last seven years, since its creation. The Expert Group is composed of State representatives and members of civil society, with Dapo as the only academic appointed to the Group
