Internship Fund – applications now closed
Applications to the Oxford Pro Bono Publico (OPBP) Internship Fund are closed for 2012-2013. Applications for 2013-2014 will open in Hilary term, 2014.
The Internship Fund provides financial assistance to graduate students seeking non-paid or poorly-paid internships at public interest organisations. The Fund encourages student involvement in OPBP’s work, and broader public interest work, while developing OPBP’s relationships with partner organisations.
All law students currently enrolled in a graduate taught or research degree at the University of Oxford are eligible to apply.
See the past recipients of the Internship Fund.
Who is eligible?
A person is eligible to apply for the OPBP Internship Fund if he or she is currently enrolled in a graduate law degree at the University of Oxford. In exceptional circumstances a non-law graduate student may be eligible to apply. Successful applicants must agree to comply with all of the conditions of the award.
Where can Interns go?
Students are expected to approach an organisation to arrange their own short-term internship placement. The internship database includes a number of organisations that students are encouraged to approach, but are not limited to.
How much is awarded?
In 2012-2013, OPBP awarded grants of approximately £500 each.
How to apply
Every applicant must complete an application form. Students undertaking research degrees must have the consent of their supervisor before applying. Shortlisted candidates may be interviewed in Oxford by a selection of the OPBP Executive Committee.
Applications for 2012-2013 have closed. No late applications will be accepted.
OPBP may call for a second round of applications late in Trinity term if funding becomes available.
For interest, the 2012-2013 application form is provided.
