Daniela Simone
DPhil Law
Daniela Simone is a DPhil student in Law, writing a thesis on collective authorship and copyright law under the guidance of Professor Graeme Dinwoodie. She has been the convener of the Oxford Intellectual Property Discussion Group since October 2010. In 2009 Daniela completed an MPhil (Oxford) with a thesis entitled ‘Copyright Subsistence in the World of Web 2.0: A Case Study of Wikipedia’ supervised by Dr Justine Pila. During this period she was an associate editor of the Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal. In 2007-08 Daniela read for the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford, taking courses in Intellectual Property Rights, Constitutional Theory, Comparative Human Rights and Comparative Public Law. Before coming to Oxford, she was admitted to legal practice in NSW (Australia) and she worked at Blake Dawson’s Sydney office (now Ashurst) until 2007. Daniela has BA (English and French) and LLB (Hons I) degrees from the University of Sydney. In 2006 she volunteered at the Arts Law Centre of Australia as part of the University of Sydney’s External Placement Programme. She is currently a member of Worcester College, where she holds the position of Junior Dean.
