The Law Faculty March Open Days 2013 – Please read the following:
The address of the law faculty is The St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford OX1 3UL telephone 01865 271491.  The programme begins at 10:00 and finishes at 15:30 – 16:00.  All students must register when they arrive at the St Cross building on the morning of the Open Day.  Please try to arrive before 10:00 – registration will begin at 09:00.  Lunch, which is free of charge, will be at one of the colleges.  This link is to the timetable:

There is no dress code, wear clothes in which you feel comfortable.  Remember it is March and may be cold.  You will be walking to your lunch venue, so wear comfortable shoes. Do not bring anything valuable and keep what you do bring to a minimum.  This link is to a map with directions to the St Cross building from the railway and bus stations and the coach stops.  It also shows the colleges where overnight accommodation has been booked:

For those with overnight accommodation

You should already know the name of the college where you are staying.  Its location can be found through the link given above and in your confirmation email.  Accommodation is for the night before your allotted Open Day, unless other arrangements have been made with us by your school.

You may check into your accommodation from 2.00pm (14:00).  Check-in and check-out is at the porters’ lodge of the college.  The porters will have a list of those staying; they will also have an envelope for each of you containing a voucher for breakfast and emergency phone numbers.  

The porters’ lodge is open 24 hours a day but if you will be arriving late – 9.00pm (21:00) and after – it would be considerate to contact the lodge and let them know. 

You know from your confirmation email that no evening meal or programme is arranged for the evening before the open day.  There are plenty of inexpensive places in Oxford to eat and you should take the opportunity to walk around and see the town, after all you may be spending three years here!  Remember to take with you the name and telephone number of the college where you are staying. 

You should be ready to leave by 9.00am (09:00) the following morning.  Please make sure you give your key in at the porters’ lodge before you leave.  None of the colleges where accommodation is booked are very far from the Law Faculty but you should allow at least twenty minutes for the walk.  Bring your bag/backpack with you to the faculty; we will store it for you.  As mentioned already, do not bring anything valuable and keep what you bring to a minimum.
