Black History Month 2020

October is Black History Month. First established in the UK in 1987, this national celebration aims to honour and promote Black contributions to British society, and to foster an understanding of Black history in general.

The Faculty is keen to support and to reflect upon the importance of Black History Month, especially given the historical potential of the law both to enforce disadvantage and to promote fairness, equality and diversity. Therefore, we invite you to explore and learn with us this month.

To hear the voices and experiences of some of our staff and students who have kindly shared a bit about their journeys, please visit their profiles

Any news and events taking place at the Faculty will be listed below.

For University-wide events, please visit Black History Month Oxford. And for a collection of nationwide events, please visit Black History Month Listings and Blacknet.

We will also be highlighting a mix of other interesting events in other events
