The Centre for Criminology offers an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice and a DPhil in Criminology, as well providing supervision to some of those registered for the DPhil in Law who are working on criminological topics. As a relatively small community of scholars, we manage to stay in touch with most of our alumni and learn about their lives after Oxford. Our graduates have gone on to work and further study in universities, courts, law firms, government, criminal justice agencies and third sector organizations across the world.
As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, the Faculty of Law has put together an exciting programme of events and activities to commemorate this anniversary and to capture the intellectual life of the Centre. We have also embarked on an ambitious new fundraising campaign to secure and enhance the next fifty years of research and teaching by establishing a Global Criminal Justice Research Hub in the Centre. Our development proposal sets out our plans, some of which focus on creating new studentships to attract those who might not otherwise be able to afford to come to Oxford. These studentships would join other recently created opportunities including the Howard League scholarship for a part-time DPhil and the Kalisher-Wadham MSc scholarship, to cover the MSc fees of a student intending on proceeding to the bar. We are grateful to the Howard League, the Kalisher Trust and Wadham College for investing in our students.
Our alumni story book is now online, bringing together stories from our alumni worldwide.
We are grateful to those alumni who have already made a gift to criminology. For those who would like to make a donation, the Faculty of Law has created a new website. While investment in new students is one goal of our Anniversary celebrations, reconnecting with alumni is another. We look forward to welcoming you back to Oxford in 2016.
