29th and 30th August 2013

The 5th Annual Postgraduate Criminology Conference will take place at the Centre for Criminology, University of Oxford on the 29th and 30th August 2013. Keynote speakers will include Eammon Carrabine, Fergus McNeill and Richard Sparks, and the programme will feature an expert panel on disseminating research in the digital age. Above all, however, this is a chance for postgraduate students to present their work to their peers.

We are now inviting any student currently enrolled on a PhD programme (UK-based or otherwise) to submit an abstract. We welcome proposals from students of criminology and related disciplines, on any subject in criminology and criminal justice, including: policing; security and the state; border criminology; prisons; victims; visual and/or cultural criminology and criminal justice. We particularly encourage all submissions to engage with gender and/or race wherever relevant.

Abstracts should be clearly titled and no more than 250 words in length. However, proposals for non-traditional presentations (e.g. video screenings) will also be considered.  Please include contact details for all authors.

Please send your abstracts to Kate West. The deadline for submissions is 1st July, with notification sent out shortly afterwards.

Registration for the conference will open shortly. The conference website is here; if you have any general queries please contact Matthew Davies. We are also on Facebook!
