On a sunny day in Hay-on-Wye back in May 2013, Ian Loader participated in a debate on police accountability as part of the ‘How the Light Gets in Festival’, organized by the Institute of Art and Ideas. The motion under the discussion was ‘Who guards the guards? Policing, trust and transparency’ and the debate also included contributions from Prof. Lawrence Sherman of the University of Cambridge, former Minister of Justice Lord Falconer and ex-Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair. A recording of the discussion can be viewed here.
