The Islamic Law and Society Discussion Group (ILSDG) provides an opportunity for research students and academics to present their research and work-in-progress on issues related to Islamic law. ‘Islamic law’ for this purpose is broadly defined. The Group is particularly interested in research which links law with social, political and economic issues among Muslim populations.

The group is open to all members of the University. Members of the Faculty of Law, Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Oriental Institute, the Oxford Centre of Islamic Studies and the Middle East Centre may find the discussions of particular interest.
