This event is a reading group to discuss the Frankfurt School and the Law in Society:
Alice Schneider reading of Walter Benjamin's The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction (1936) will shed light on the the culture industry and its role in Modern society. Michael Kebede's examination of Horkheimer and Adorno's The Dialectic of Enlightenment (1944) will focus more on Negative Dialectics. Maayan Ravid will add a psychoanalytical perspective through the review of Theodor Adorno et al. in the Authoritarian Personality (1950). All of this will be used to foster a dialogue on concepts of law, law in society and legal institutions.
