Professor Denis Galligan is looking for a research assistant to assist with organising an international conference on consumer rights (China) which will take place in Oxford in September 2016.

Duration and hours

The work is to start immediately and will run until September 2016.


The post will report to Professor Denis Galligan and Dr Ying Yu, Centre for Socio-Legal Studies.


DPhil student or equivalent required. Good admin and IT skills are essential. Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and ensure that project objectives are met within timescales. Previous events/conference experience desirable.


This post is open to current graduate research students in the Law Faculty and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students.

Rate of Pay

This will be paid at the standard research assistant rate of £14.01/hour plus holiday pay of £2.40 = total of £16.41/hour.


This post is funded by a conference fund held by Professor Denis Galligan.
