Kristin van Zwieten is looking to recruit a research assistant to assist with a project on judicial assistance at common law in cross-border insolvency cases.
- essential: an excellent undergraduate degree in law from a common law jurisdiction;
- essential: the ability to work with historic case reports from various common law jurisdictions (available in hard copy in the Bodleian Law library) to identify relevant cases;
- desirable: knowledge (from study or practice) of English company and/or English corporate insolvency law and/or English private international law.
Duration and hours
Up to 20 hours of work, to be completed in late August / early September 2019, paid at the Faculty’s research assistant rate.
The case law the subject of the project is not generally available on electronic databases, and students will need to be based in Oxford to be able to access hard-copy sources, or be able to demonstrate how they can access these sources elsewhere.
Rate of Pay
The pay will be at the standard research assistant rate of £15.10/hour plus holiday pay of £1.82 = total of £16.92/hour. The research assistant will be expected to keep a record of hours worked.
The post reports to Kristin van Zwieten.
This post is open to current graduate research students in the Law Faculty or other social sciences Faculty/Department and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students.
