Professor Jonathan Herring and Dr Camilla Pickles are looking for a research assistant to help with the organising and running of a seminar on 12 January 2018 and to help with collating and editing an edited collection on Childbirth: Vulnerability, Violence, and Control.
Duration and hours
The work is to start in January 2018 and will run until the end of September 2018.
The hours will vary, but the research assistant will be expected to be available for the entire day on 12 January 2018 and work up to 65 hours thereafter collating chapters and ensuring compliance with the publisher’s style guide requirements.
The post will report to Jonathan Herring and Camilla Pickles.
- A general understanding of the field of law is essential and a reasonable understanding of the field of medical law and women’s rights is desirable.
- This post requires excellent writing and editing skills, and publishing experience is desirable.
- Good administrative and IT skills are essential.
- The work can be done in any place, but the research assistant must be able to travel to Oxford for occasional meetings. They must be in Oxford for the seminar on 12 January 2018.
This post is open to current graduate research students in the Law Faculty and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students.
Rate of Pay
This will be paid at the standard research assistant rate of £14.56/hour plus holiday pay of £2.49 = total of £17.05/hour.
This post is funded by the Law Faculty’s Research Support Fund.
