Prof András Sajó is a former judge of the European Court of Human Rights (2008-2017) and currently a University Professor at the Central European University in Budapest, where he was founding Dean of the Legal Studies Department (1991-1992). He is a Global Visiting Professor of Law at New York University Law School and previously served as Counsel to the President of the Republic of Hungary (1991-1992). Prof Sajó’s research interests focus on constitutional law and the general field of human rights with a particular interest in media regulation. He was involved in the drafting of the Hungarian, Ukrainian, Georgian and South African constitutions and has consulted for the World Bank and the United Nations Development Program.
