The Annual Holdsworth Society Moot, kindly sponsored by Herbert Smith, is to be held in Hilary Term 2011 at St John's College. The event will be spread across four rounds with the first being contested by 16 teams and taking place on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th January 2011, this being Monday and Tuesday of 2nd week. Further rounds will be spread across the term, culminating in the final, which will be held on Monday 28th February (Monday of 7th week).

The final will be judged by Lord Neuberger, Master of the Rolls, and the two teams who reach the final will be invited to the finalist supper. The winning team will also receive £150.

This year's problems will be based on tort, contract or land law, and should be interesting and challenging for undergraduate mooters of all standards.

Any teams who would like to take part should contact the Librarian and Mistress of Moots of the Holdsworth Society (, stating the names and e-mail addresses of both members of the team and which College you attend. Participants may, but need not, come from the same College. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and participants must be undergraduates. The rules of the competition and the problem will be sent to all successful teams in due course.
