Dr Jan Komarek will come from LSE to give a presentation, followed by a discussion on Friday 4 February at 12.30 (SCR, Law Faculty). His paper is based on a review of Mitchel Lasser’s Judicial Deliberations (2004). Contrary to Lasser, Dr Komarek does not believe that judges in France are denied to have law making power in some meaningful sense; nor does he agree that the French legal theory does not consider ‘jurisprudence’ as the true source of law. Drinks and sandwiches will be provided.
