During this session you will be shown examples of real Bar CVs, both good and bad. From these examples a list of top tips for CVs and bar applications will be drawn. The talk will go on to consider ‘Pupillage Portal’ applications, explaining the process and how to make your application stand out. Finally, if there is time, advice and examples will be given regarding good interview technique. There will be plenty of time for questions throughout the talk. This session will be led by James Wakefield. James was called to the Bar in 1993. He was the Head of the BVC at Nottingham Law School and is now the Head of the BPTC at Kaplan Law School, London. James has many years experience advising students on applications and interviews; his students have enjoyed the highest pupillage rates in the country. This session is open to all students considering a career at the Bar.
