The event will serve as the launch of Phil Clark's new book, The Gacaca Courts, Post-Genocide Justice and Reconciliation in Rwanda: Justice without Lawyers (Cambridge University Press). After a presentation outlining the main arguments of the book, the following panelists will debate different aspects of the analysis:

Harry Verhoeven (DPhil candidate in Politics and co-convenor of the Oxford Central Africa Forum), Astrid Jamar (former consultant, Penal Reform International and Avocats Sans Frontières, Rwanda) and Travers McLeod (DPhil candidate in International Relations, Oxford).

Nikki Palmer (OTJR committee member and DPhil candidate in Law) will chair the panel.
