Lord Judge is the Head  of  the  Judiciary  in
England  and  Wales.  He  has  been  Lord  Chief
Justice  since  2008.  He  has  been  a  High  Court
and Court of Appeal judge and President of the
Queen’s  Bench  Division.  As  Lord  Chief  Justice,
Lord   Judge   is   the   Presiding   Judge   of   the
Criminal Division of the Court of Appeal.
Lord Judge has significant responsibilities in his
role  as  Head  of  the  Judiciary.  He  often  speaks
for the judiciary in the media, recently criticising
the  ease  with  which  new  laws  can  be  passed
without proper scrutiny, calling for a free vote on
the reform of murder laws, and defending a free
press as a constitutional necessity.
