This workshop is for 3rd Year + DPhil Students and Early Career Research Staff.
A key component of becoming a successful academic researcher is the ability to win funding for your research. Grant writing is a particular style of writing and persuasion to ensure your research stands out amongst the increasingly large and competitive crowd.
The workshop will provide you with:
- Insights into the different writing style required for grant writing
- Top tips for successful bidding
- Understanding of project planning and appropriate resourcing
Participants are required to bring with them either an application for funding that you are currently working on, or a piece of writing that you are looking to turn into a funding application. This needs to be hard copy for sharing with other workshop participants.
What previous attendees have said:
"Clear advice about how to structure a grant application and how to tailor them to particular funding bodies."
"Tips on how to frame research proposal. Tips on differences between funders (aims, organisation) and need to pay attention to those. Tips on impact and dissemination strategies"

"One of the best of these kind of sessions that I have attended - thank you!"
