The HLA Hart Memorial Lecture

The HLA Hart Memorial Lecture – Thursday 14 May 2026 – 5pm to 6:15 pm in the College Chapel, University College, Oxford

On behalf of University College, we would like to invite you to save the date for the 2026 HLA Hart Memorial Lecture, to be given on 16 May 2026 at 5p.m. in the College Chapel at University College, Oxford. This year's lecture, the 40th in the series funded by the Tanner Foundation, will be given by the James Bryant Conant University Professor Harvard University Danielle Allen. 

Professor Allen specializes in political philosophy, ethics, and public policy. She is a seasoned nonprofit leader, democracy advocate, tech ethicist, distinguished author, and mom.

Registration for the event should be sent to masters.pa@univ.ox.ac.uk.  Due to limited numbers this will be on a first come first served basis.  

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session.
