Faculty Funding for New Research Students

MPhil and DPhil

There are two main funding pathways:

Need-based funding administered by the Faculty (bursaries)Merit-based awards distributed by the University/Faculty (scholarships)

Approximately 30% of postgraduate research (PGR) offer-holders are awarded need-based funding from the Faculty.

The guidance on how to apply for the Faculty's Non-Full Funding Bursaries will be included in your offer letter.

Non-Full Funding Bursaries

There are dozens of scholarships, some of which may have additions eligibility criteria, such as country of origin (citizenship or domicile).

Once you have been offered a place on one of the Faculty’s Graduate Research programmes, you will be automatically considered for scholarships for which you are found eligible.

There are some awards that do require the candidates to apply separately; therefore, please use the Fees, funding and scholarship search to ensure you do not miss the funding opportunities you may be eligible for.
