Murray Hunt, a Visiting Professor in Human Rights Law, and Legal Adviser to Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights, has been shortlisted as one of three candidates for election as the next UK Judge on the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, following an open selection process administered by the Judicial Appointments Commission.  The other two candidates are Tim Eicke QC and Jessica Simor QC. 

The new UK Judge will be elected for a nine year term by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe during its plenary session from 20th to 24th June 2016.
