AI Law and Governance Research Group
As AI and other digital technologies permeate more of our lives, they increasingly become the source of legally significant events which may challenge the structure and approach of the current law. This means that all those who study or practise law need to understand its digital context.
The group's work includes the projects and programmes listed below and the DPhil theses on the Current DPhils and Completed DPhils pages, linked above. Members and students share work in progress at the Future of Technology and Society Discussion Group, also linked above. Selected recent publications by members are on the Research in AI Law and Governance page.
In addition, we run two postgraduate courses, one on AI and Data Law, open to students taking the BCL and MJur, and an interdisciplinary course in Law and Computer Science jointly with the Department of Computer Science, open to students taking the BCL, MJur and MLF, and to Computer Science students in their fourth or MSc years.
