Biography

Ana studied B.A. LL.M. at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, Croatia, and graduated summa cum laude in 2011. She obtained the MJur at Oxford as the OSI/University of Oxford scholar in 2012. She is currently pursuing DPhil in law under the supervision of Mr Angus Johnston, as a Law Faculty Graduate Assistance Fund scholar. Her research addresses the incidences of, and reasons for, constitutional clashes between the European Court of Justice and national (constitutional) courts in the application and enforcement of EU law.  It seeks to determine how the principle of supremacy of EU law works in reality and whether the jurisprudence of national constitutional/supreme courts supports this concept.

She is currently the Graduate Mooting Assistant at the Law Faculty. She is also a legal consultant for a Brussels based agency Tipik, in matters relating to the implementation of secondary EU law in Croatia.

Ana was the coach of the University of Oxford team for the Price Media Law Moot Court competition, Oxford, 1-4 April 2014, where the team was the overall runner-up of the competition, and won the Best Oralist award.
