Isaac Agyiri Danso
Isaac Agyiri Danso (Yaw) is a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in Law student at the University of Oxford. His doctoral thesis considers one of the key questions in recent multilateral efforts in international tax: the question of inclusion, focusing specifically on the perspectives and experiences of African countries.
Isaac is a Lawyer, Chartered Accountant, and Chartered Tax Practitioner with significant expertise in commercial law, accounting, finance, and international tax law. He has served as an Assistant to Ghana’s Minister for Finance, Senior Counsel at the Volta River Authority and an Associate at Mercer & Company, an Accra-based law firm. In 2017, he co-founded Audit Partners, Africa.
Isaac obtained a Master of Public Policy (with Distinction) from the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, as a Standard Bank Africa Scholar and graduated top of his class. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL. B) from the GIMPA Law School (Ghana) and is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Isaac is the recipient of several academic and professional awards including national best at the finals of both the Ghana Bar Examinations in 2016 and the 2009 Institute of Chartered Accountants’ professional examination, becoming Ghana’s then-youngest chartered accountant. His research interests are international taxation, law and public policy, international governance, public financial management and fiscal policy.
