James Bailey is an MPhil candidate in the Faculty of Law under the supervision of Professor Jennifer Payne. His thesis explores issues relating to the dissolution of ordinary partnerships under English and Scots law.
James has a keen interest in private law and has published articles in the Edinburgh Law Review on the law of partnership and on aggravated damages.
James holds an LLB degree (First Class) and the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (Distinction) from the University of Edinburgh, where he received various awards and scholarships. Prior to commencing his MPhil, he worked as a trainee solicitor in Scotland and London, focusing on commercial litigation.
