James Manwaring is a Stipendiary Lecturer in Law at Hertford College and an AHRC DPhil candidate at Balliol College. His doctoral work is in the philosophy of law, with a focus on criminal law theory. His thesis assesses the relevance of a defendant's (in)capacities to their culpability.
James studied law at the University of Warwick before coming to Hertford College for the BCL and Balliol College for the MPhil in law.
He currently co-convenes the Jurisprudence Discussion Group.
