My DPhil project, supervised by Professor Timothy Endicott and Professor Tom Adams, is aimed at developing a descriptive account of the social practice of law, and especially of its continued operation in situations of constitutional crisis. One particular aspect of my project is to develop an understanding of legal practice and discourse which deals with law not as a set of norms, but a framework of social meaning. I am also interested in the legal, constitutional, and political theory of democratic socialism, and state theory more generally.

Before coming to Balliol, I read law at St Anne's College, Oxford (BA, 2015–18) and political theory at the London School of Economics and Political Science (MSc, 2018–19).
