Katharina Hufgard is a Doctoral Candidate in Law Studies at Humboldt-University in Berlin where she researches access to information at international organisations, in particular the Access to Information Policy of the World Bank. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the interpretation and application of the Access to Information Policy by the Access to Information Committee and Appeals Board of the World Bank and examines whether it complies with international normative standards for access to information and human rights such as the Right to Privacy. More generally, Katharina's research interests include: Transparency and accountability of international organisations, Global Administrative Law of development cooperation and International Institutional Law of Information. 

Katharina has practiced as a lawyer in Germany in the field of public law.
