Mariyam holds an undergraduate degree in law from Osmania University, Hyderabad (India). She has also worked for a year as a law clerk to the Chief Justice of India. In 2013, she came to Oxford to read for the BCL as a Felix Scholar, and subsequently, for an M Phil in Law as a Salve Scholar.
Mariyam is now a D Phil Candidate in Law at Exeter College as a Salve Scholar. Her M Phil and D Phil examine the constitutional right to privacy in India. Her research is supervised by Professor Paul Craig.
She is also an Editor of the Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal and the Convener of the South Asian Law Discussion Group at the Oxford Law Faculty.
