Biography

Marlena is a DPhil candidate researching the normative foundations for prohibiting discrimination on the grounds of young age. Her DPhil is funded by a Clarendon Scholarship and an Arts and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Studentship. Alongside her research, Marlena teaches administrative law.

In 2016 Marlena was awarded the Vinerian Scholarship for best performance on the BCL. In 2018 she spent 6 months working in asylum law in Greece. She has worked for the Human Dignity Trust providing legal research to assist local litigants to challenge laws which criminalise homosexuality and as a consultant for Rights Watch UK on the human rights implications of counter-terrorism legislation.
