Maximilian is an academic visitor at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies of the University of Oxford. He is a doctoral candidate at Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, and investigates methodological problems of legal transplants. At CSLS he is focusing on identifying and classifying legal transplants as a socio-legal phenomena. Maximilian holds a doctoral scholarship from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. His stay at Oxford is funded by the International Research Fellowship of Bucerius Law School.
Prior to his doctorate, Maximilian studied law at Bucerius Law School. He completed his German First State Exam in 2015. He also spent a semester abroad at Boston University School of Law as an exchange student in 2012.
