Petra is a doctoral researcher at University College, Oxford, and a Peter Birks Scholar. She is a Tutor in EU Law at Wadham College, Oxford. Her research interests include EU (constitutional and private) law and comparative private law. Her thesis is concerned with effective judicial protection and damages in EU law. It is supervised by Professor Stephen Weatherill (jointly with Professor Stefan Vogenauer until September 2015, when he assumed a position at another institution).
She completed Magister Juris at University College, Oxford (2012) with distinction. Before commencing her DPhil, she worked at the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg and at Higher (Appellate) Court in Ljubljana. Her publications include articles and chapters on various topics linked to EU law. She is one of the convenors of the EU Law Discussion Group at Oxford. In the academic year 2014/15, she was a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, Germany. In Michaelmas Term 2016, she is a Visiting Student/Researcher at the European University Institute in Florence under the mentorship of Professor Hans-W. Micklitz.
Her research is funded by the Slovene Human Resources Development and Scholarship Fund and the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford (the Peter Birks Memorial Scholarship).
