Richard Parnham is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School (SBS). He is currently working on a research project that explores how AI and related technologies are affecting business models in legal services. This research combines Richard’s three main areas of interest – legal practice strategy, innovation in the delivery of legal services, and legal technology.

Prior to joining SBS, Richard spent more than 20 years working as legal journalist, researcher and project manager. His research focused on the strategic and operational aspects of LegalTech deployments, and also legal practice innovation more generally. Between 2015 and 2018, Richard was the official conference reporter for the British Legal Technology Forum.

Richard’s LLM explored on the law and regulation of online legal services, while his doctorate evaluated the geographical strategies of large EU law firms. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in computing for commerce and industry.
