Teresa Büchsel
Biography
Teresa Büchsel joined the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies as a doctoral candidate in 2016. Her research, funded by the ESRC, investigates the attribution of protection status in German courts from a socio-legal perspective. In particular, she is interested in decision-making processes in administrative courts, with a view to understanding the role of courts in the socio-political context of refugee and asylum protection more generally.
Prior to joining the Centre, Teresa worked as a researcher for the Expert Council of German Foundations on Integration and Migration (SVR) in Berlin. She holds an LL.B. in English and German Law and completed the MSc in International Migration and Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
She co-convenes the Refugee and Migration Law Discussion Group at the Law Faculty.
