Derrick Wyatt gave oral evidence on behalf of the Bar Council to the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee on 7 February. He addressed the disruptive effects of a 'no deal' and a 'hard Brexit'. Subsequently, the Bar Council submitted written evidence on these issues to the Committee, written by Derrick Wyatt and Hugo Leith. This written evidence appears in full in the Report of the Foreign Affairs Committee, which concluded that it would be a 'dereliction of duty' to fail to plan for a 'no deal'. The written evidence has also been published by the Bar Council as one of its 'Brexit Papers', and it is that paper which comprises this post.
