LGBTIQA+ asylum seekers, legal representatives and the Australian Appeals Tribunal

This project examines the roles and experiences of legal representatives who undertake cases with LGBTIQA+ asylum seekers in Australia. It draws on narrative interviews with representatives and AAT decisions about applicants to examine how the frameworks of crimmigration and border security are further challenged by those who do not fit the Western heteronormative roles of gender and/or diverse sexuality.
