Call for proposals: (visiting teaching in Melbourne Law Masters)

The Melbourne Law Masters (MLM) offered by Melbourne Law School (MLS) at the University of Melbourne is an internationally-recognized graduate-level teaching program offering a suite of broad and specialist courses for students from law and non-law backgrounds. The program brings an array of international and Australia-based experts (academics, practitioners, judges and others), to provide to our students an optimal mix of in-depth legal knowledge and its practical application.

The purpose of this Call is to supplement our existing systems for expressions of interest in teaching a subject in the MLM by inviting proposals for teaching during our 2025 academic year.

Teaching for subjects may be scheduled throughout the year, but teaching typically runs from mid-February to mid-December. Subject materials will be due around 6 weeks before teaching starts and teachers are expected to mark assessment tasks promptly. MLS envisage that subjects taught as a result of this Call will be conducted in-person, so visitors will be required to travel to Melbourne and teach on campus.

The visiting teacher will be provided a teaching fee that consists of a Base Fee and a Travel Fee.

Base Fee: AU$16,500

Travel Fee (for international visitors)1: AU$6,000 to AU$8000, staggered by region and payable as part of a single teaching fee (i.e., no receipts required).
